On March 19 , vice mayor of the municipal government He Feng anddeputy secretary-general Zou Dingyuan visited the Sub-Center of NationalEngineering and Research Center for Advanced Steel Technology (NERCAST) for investigation.

Accompanied by President Liu Tieming, Vice President Chen Zhiguoand Zhu Qiang, Vice Mayor He Feng first visited NERCAST Sub-Center, and learnedabout the establishment and development history of the center. Then theyrespectively investigated the High Pressure Water Jet Laboratory, CMM andMechanical Parts Surveying and Mapping Laboratory, Metallographic Laboratoryand Metallographic Preparation Laboratory in Tongxin Building, HUHST, learningabout the scientific research function, research direction and transformationof scientific research results of each laboratory.

The meeting was chaired by Vice President Zhu Qiang. PresidentLiu Tieming briefly introduced the construction and development of HUHST. ZhouMingwei, Director of NERCAST Sub-Center, reported the basic situation of the sub-center,the work carried out since its establishment and the future work plan. CaoYanguang, deputy director of Transportation and Construction Steel ProjectDepartment of Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (CISRI), made astatement on the related work of the sub-center from the following threeaspects: the transformation of achievements in 2020, the work plan in the next3-5 years, and the strengthening of the deep cooperation with HUHST.

Vice Mayor He Feng affirmed the outstanding contribution made byHUHST to the economic and social development of Loudi City. Four hopes were putforward for the development of NERCAST Sub-Center. Firstly, strengthen theconstruction of talent team with quality and quantity guaranteed. Secondly,break through the key technology and focus on solving technical problems of theneck jam in various departments. Thirdly, solve the mechanism problems such aspersonnel identity. Fourthly, highlight the benefits, to implement the researchresults to industrial transformation and upgrading, economic structureadjustment, added value improvement and other specific aspects, closely linkedto the development needs of Loudi City, and layout innovation chain around theindustrial chain.

At last, President Liu Tieming stressed in his concluding speechthat the university would fully support the work of NERCAST Sub-Center in termsof staffing, logistics support and mechanism construction, and would surelylive up to the great trust of the municipal Party Committee and government to helpthe development of the sub-center.
