On the afternoon of October 4th, the SeminaronNational First-class Major of the School of Energy and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering - Material Forming and Control Engineering was held in Conference Room 306 of Tongde Building. Chen Zhiguo, member of the Party Committee and vice principlepresided over the meeting, and vice principle Liu Jianxun attended. Xiang Guohong, Director of Academic Affairs, Liu Haili, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, the leadership team of the Secondary College, and all teachers of the Department of Material Forming and Control Engineering attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Hu Dong, headofthe secondary collegeexpressed his warm welcome and sincere thanks to all leading experts for their visit and guidance, and hoped to take this opportunity to provide valuable suggestions and useful references for the construction of first-class major. Dr. Wang Li, director of the Department of Material Control, introduced in detail the overall progress and existing problems of the construction of this  first-class major, and hoped that the school could give support in terms of funds and guidance. The participants contributed ideas, and extensive and achieved in-depth discussions and exchanges on curriculum construction, teaching material construction, subject competition, teaching achievement application, graduation thesis guidance, etc.

Liu Jianxun affirmed the excellent achievements in the construction of "first-class major" of material control major, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all teachers of material control for their hard work. For the major development, he pointed out that it is necessary to continue to think deeply about what kind of people to cultivate and how to cultivate them, focus on the development of connotation, further condense professional characteristics, and improve the quality of talent training.

Chen Zhiguo stressed that it is necessary to unify thinking, form consensus, unite forces, and do a good job in top-level design and concrete implementation of first-class major construction, and put forward many high-level suggestions for the construction of teachingstaff, courses and laboratories in major construction, pointing out new directions and ideas.

The seminar aims to implement the work and requirements of the “first-class major”construction of material forming and control engineering, further clarify thetasks and goals, and promote the substantive construction of first-class majors in an orderly manner.
